Which Grain Direction for Flexible Ply If you want to know which grain direction you need for Flexible Ply the key thing to remember is that the grain follows the length of the board and that the board bends along the length long of the grain. The panels are available in long grain (portrait, tall and thin) 2440mm high x 1220mm wide or short grain (landscape, short and wide) 1220mm high x 2440mm wide. Think of long grain panels creating tall, narrow columns and short grain creating low, wide round plinths.
